Here are a few of the major safety tips to keep in mind when you are playing with electric ride on toys.

Always be watching and supervising when your children are riding any kind of electric car, truck, or other type of ride on toy. An adult really needs to be there for safety sake. Children often fail to realize the risks they may be taking by driving their toys into the street or trying certain stunts that could create an unfortunate accident.

Be sure to use the seatbelt provided in any ride on toy. Most every large electric toy will have some sort of restraint inside the vehicle. The smaller ones that do not go very fast may not have.

Does your child fully understand how to operate the electric ride on toy? Do they know how to stop the car? You will want to be sure that they know that taking your foot off the gas pedal will automatically make the car stop.

Naturally, they will need to understand how to steer the car in any direction.

Be sure they are wearing a helmet. It may be a hassle, but all kids should wear a helmet such as a bicycle helmet when driving an electric car.

Finally, be certain that your children understand how important it is to stay off the street or road. It's easy for kids to think they are driving just like adults and then suddenly hit the streets in their car. This can result in tragic consequences.

There are few things that are more fun as a kid than having electric ride on toys. By following these simple safety tips you can be assured that everyone will stay safe and have a great time as well.
